Does anyone else get really anxious about anniversaries?
I really like being with my boyfriend, and think we have a healthy relationship, but whenever I think about how long we've been together - over 2 years now - it really freaks me out. On our first year anniversary I cried and had no idea why I was so emotional... the only thing I can put it down to is my fear of commitment, and the way people have left me in the past when I've invested a lot of emotion and time into a relationship.
I can't be the only person out there that dreads anniversaries rather than looks forward to them... right?

=[ I don't know if I can offer any advice here because when I reach an anniversary, I just think, how has it only been that long? Feels like foooooreevvvver.
At the end of the day it's just a number, and it doesn't really matter. When me and my OH had only been together a short while it felt like it had been years. Whereas for others it may feel like that time has flown past. It is the quality of the relationship, not the length. =]

I agree with shadow. I've been with my boyfriend for 10 months, but when we first started dating it felt the same as it does now, if that makes any sense. Obviously we haven't had an anniversary yet so I don't know how I'll feel when that comes, but honestly anniversaries don't really mean anything.
The only reason I'd dread my anniversary is because I hate picking out gifts, haha.
