Following on from dressing for your body type, I'm fairly tall and while I normally have to have long legged trousers, I'm also long in the torso.
This makes fashion choices really irritating. The amount of times that I want to get a top but it just meets the top of my trousers (pants for you americans) and if I wear it I'll end up showing off my skin or it will get cold. This isn't helped by the back fat I have at the moment so tops ride up. Also, dresses. URGH. I brought one online and it doesn't cover my bum. It's too expensive to send back so I have to mod it. And so many dresses I have to wear with jeans because they are not long enough to just wear with leggings.
And when I want to wear a nice skirt but all the little demin numbers do not cover what they are suppose to because they are just too damn short for me.
Also, I swear, I wear a belt with my jeans and they still fall down, but they are tight jeans and if I do the belt tighter then it digs in to much. It is so infuriating.
Does any body else have these problems or want to share their own fashion woes?

I'm a decently tall person too, so I get you. I'm more leg, though, so while it seems I would have less problems, it also means that dresses APPEAR too short, and I feel uncomfortable. It may very well cover my junk but it's only just barely, and I feel like I end up being in danger of having it fly up and reveal even more than my already long stretch of leg skin. I also have a muffin top currently. Hate it. Hate it hate it hate it. And not cause I think it makes me look bad (I don't mind it too much, thought I wouldn't be opposed to not having it) but it makes pants buying IMPOSSIBLE. I just bought a pair of super cute cream coloured jeans with a floral print on them, completely adorable. They're skinnies, so I brought a couple sizes to get it right in the change room. Unfortunately, the ones that made my legs look absolutely fabulous, and were just the right amount of skinny, were the ones that also let my gut spill over the top horrendously. Gross. Felt absolutely terrible about myself in that moment. I bought the next size up so that I could pull the jeans up around my stomach, but the "skinny" effect isn't nearly as good. So much sad face.

I like skinny jeans as an alternative to leggings because they hold in the wobbly bits better. I have 'athletic' thighs, which I'm not that bothered about but it down mean that skinny jeans don't really suit me. Though I do rather like them. =[
But yeah the muffin top is just argh.

Skinny jeans are definitely my favourite alternative. I have a super cute outfit where I wear black skinnies and big brown combat boots with a huge sweater. Love it. For a while I stopped wearing skinnies cause I decided I didn't like them anymore but I missed them too much...curse you, fashion! Curse you! Oh, and I thought of you today when I saw this! Don't know if you know Black Milk Clothing, but they make absolutely fantastic nylon pieces (not that they'd suit me now haha) and they just opened up a long torso line of their bathing suits. They're based in Australia, and it's all handmade so you can imagine the prices, but I thought I'd link you to it anyways if you wanted to have a look! Whispers, i have found my people
Yes! I'm 5'9 so not that tall (i'm going to grow some if it kills me) but taller than average - luckily I don't shop high street or designer anymore (though buying online/tailored/m2m presents its own fuckin problems like hella louise)
Matching leg length to hip width and waist width..its like a triangle and you only get to pick two..
When it gets waist up its then shoulder/breast/waist choice, do you guys ever have trouble with bras?
I'm a 28GG as of my last buy and there are seriously a max of 3 brands I can think of that sell that size, excuse me while i leave to cry into my pillow..

Oh my word swim suits are a NIGHTMARE. I only have bikinis at the moment because it is impossible to find a one piece that fits! I'm sure you can imagine the horrendous wedgie that occurs when it is too small in the torso. I will check out that site thank you. If I get the job I'm waiting to hear back from, it involves taking people with learning difficulties swimming, and if I get the job, I might treat myself to a nice, smart swimsuit, that is work appropriate.
I wish I could afford m2m! I would love to be competent enough to make my own clothes (or at least buy and highly edit some) but alas. I just really hate women's clothes sizes! It makes no sense and varies SO much. It is so much easier for guys (especially because they don't tend to have 'fitted' clothes, they're all loose). I mean, really what the heck is a size 12? Really? And we have curves to consider! Generally, my bust is a size 10/12, my waist is also a 10/12 my hips are a 12/14 as are my thighs. You'd think that this would be ok, but NO because tops that are a 10/12 don't fit over my wide hips! And most jeans only get fitted for waist. And that is not to mention the length of things.
I really really feel for you Trip. I'm a 34C or 36B (I haven't quite decided, really need to get properly measured) But then they only fit when I stand completely straight with my shoulders back, I mean who really stands like that ALL the time? And when I looked into bra fitting and stuff THAT is what they are measured on. So you bend forward and the bra no longer fits! And it's just boobs everywhere. You lie down and the boobs splay to the side but that bra doesn't want to do that so it is uncomfortable! And don't get my started on sports! Sports bras might keep everything in place, but only to the cost of squishing EVERYTHING out of the way. And they still allow bounce. Yes, even me with my modest bust size gets bounce when wearing a sports bra. I can only imagine how horrible it is for you Trip.
Honestly, men must have made bras because they are completely impractical.

Yeah, swimsuits are incredibly difficult for me too. I'm roughly a 34B/C, and for some reason, all the swimsuits that manage to cover my gut and go entirely down to the bottom piece (I wear two pieces but with a long top piece if that makes sense), the bra part never fits! They always come with these stupid built-in cups, and they're always meant for some DD boobs or something. I had to safety pin my current bathing suit in two different places just so my bathing suit wouldn't come away from my chest everytime I wasn't standing straight up! It's horrifying. I hate having them out like that. And Trip, I sincerely sympathize with you. I can't even imagine the back pain! All of my large chested friends aren't nearly that size, but they're all having to contemplate breast reduction surgery just to avoid severe back injuries! You should just give like half of yours to me so I can fill in my tops and you can buy better bras. How's that?

Men must have made bras! YES! Bras are pretty young in terms of evolution, after the turn of the centuary, for a really long time they were just one size fits all! Like, there were no cups but instead were sort of a boob-corset! Hopefully technology will advance this century!
Pleth! OMG PLEASEEEEEEEE take half of my boobs! That would be so SO perfect! I wish you could do that IRL I have a surgeon friend and he mentioned breast reduction surgery the other day, I plan on talking to him to find out more about it, its not something i need badly but they're such SUCH a huge inconvenience! I'm also going to try to lose some weight to see if that will shift them!
Bathing suits are insane, I haven't worn a one piece since I was 9 for a very good reason! Sadly most of the awesome shops I find are all based in the US or AUS with INSANE shipping rates, argh.
P.S Thank you both for your breast sympathy!

If Pleth doesn't want all of it then I will have some. =]
And I have the same problem with filling out tops.

Let's all just share boobs <3 I've also been having issues with finding good looking clothes that aren't crazy pricey lately. I don't know whether it's because I live in Vancouver, the 3rd most expensive city in the world, or whether it's just fashion...either way I have two choices here. Go broke and look fab or keep my money and look dull. Boo!

I actually saw an article on bras the other day. Currently they are developing bras that are modeled on BREASTS. What a novel idea that is, since original bras were made on a MALE manikin, with BOOBS stuck onto it.
It makes me so ... MEN. Fucking idiots.
Also, I decided to buy some smart trousers (pants for you Americans). And the only pair out of about 15 styles I tried on, only ONE actually fitted me. Note I said styles not actual pairs because I tried some of them in both size 12 and 14. Because suit trousers are not meant to fit people with hips! The ones I ended up with were more like jeans and were TWICE as expensive as most of them! But they are lovely. But yeah, it pissed me off so much. The 12s were too tight on the bum and thighs but the 14s were way too loose on the hips. And I tried on so many types: bootcut, straight, wideleg.
It pisses me off so much.

Oy, CANADIAN, here!
I purposely force pants to fit me far beyond their years, because trying on pants is probably the most horrifying experience I can think of. I already hate having to try on clothes for hours in the store, but pants really just take the cake. I always leave the mall feeling ugly and mutant and without pants, because NOTHING WORKS AND EVERYTHING IS FRUSTRATING.
PS That bra thing? Holy crap. Welcome to the 21st century, everyone, where bras might someday be made for boobs. Shocking!1!!!11!!

Sorry sorry. I'll try to remember next time. =p
My trouble with jeans/pants at the moment is that although I've lost weight, I've gained back fat so most my current wears are a bit tight on the hips. But not having a job means I can't buy any more. It is infuriating! I think it is the sizing that bugs me. One of my fav pairs are a 10, but in another pair I'm a 14. It makes no sense! Sizes should be measured like mens with a waist/hip and leg measurement. Oh and don't get me started on length. ALL of menswear have at least THREE leg measurements in their jeans/pants/trousers. WHY can't the same privilege be given to us ladies! The amount of times I've had to reject jeans because they only do them in one length and it is at least an inch too short. It is even worse for jogging bottoms/sweat pants. Because the are so few companies which make them in a longer length.
As soon as I have some money to spare I am going to go bra shopping. I think I only have four which fit and don't have wire poking out. I think my trouble with bras is that because I am broad across the back/chest, my boobs are far apart. Bras aren't designed for boobs to be that far apart.
