Awkward sex moment? I was backpacking, staying at a hostel, and had two numbers in my phone from different guys. One was from my new friend with benefits, and the other was from a guy I'd met the day before. Naturally, I hadn't saved them yet, and there were no distinguishing messages so I hadn't the faintest idea of who was who.
I come back from a great night out, drunk and horny, and stand for about ten minutes trying to figure out who was who. Finally, I pick a number, and fire off the oh-so-subtle message, "Hey babe what room are you in?" I get back, "What room do you want me to be in babe? xx" No idea where or who this person is, I just wrote back, "I'm out front. Come get me"
Wrong guy. Oops.
But hey, drunk me decided, when in rome....
Turned out awesome. Easily some of the best sex I'd ever had was with that guy. We continued hooking up until I left, and we're still in touch.
And that's one of my less awkward stories. Hehe

You have such a wild life Dana. I wish I could go backpacking around Europe, but I'd be too scared. I could never sleep in hostels or meet new people everyday or anything like that, I need to have everything planned out and I need my life to be stable, haha. You're so lucky that you're travelling all over, AND you have time for two popular blogs!
Sorry, none of that was about your awkward moment...

Like the thought of travelling and backpacking and having crazy adventures is totally absolutely terrifying to me, but I want to do it so bad. Which is why my boyfriend and I are kinda doing that next summer! It'll be a big step for me, and I'm crazy nervous, but excited to actually do something fulfilling with my life! I feel like I'm just sitting here and playing it safe. So I love hearing stories like Dana's, because they inspire me (even if they're awkward ;D)!

Oh gosh you guys, most of the excitement has calmed down since I got home, and even then I could use a little less. Keep getting myself in trouble haha. And I was totally nervous when I went, this is my second time going, but seriously 90% of the people you meet are going to be super super friendly. Everyone's in the same boat, new country, no idea what they're really doing, so people reach out and form bonds with each other really quickly. It's actually really awesome to see. Alyssa, you can plan it all out (be here day one, here day 2, ect) and still have unexpected and awesome things happen. Do go, it's seriously the most incredible experience, you learn to rely on and learn so much about yourself, plus realize how strong and independent you really are. plethorian, do it! Just whatever you do, don't loan out money. Learn from my mistakes, even if they're a super close friend, backpackers have a really hard time keeping hold of any coin, let alone long enough to pay you back. It just makes things mess. You're going to have such a great time!

@dana Oh, goodness, don't worry. I'm the kind to sleep with my valuables under my mattress when I travel! I'm pretty paranoid that way, but I still manage to relax with every other part of the trip! Thanks for the encouragement, hopefully I'll be able to boost myself up until it's time to jet, I'm still super stoked!
